How to choose plastic pallets with different processing techniques?

Sep 14, 2022

There are many different processing techniques for plastic pallets. Injection molding, blow molding, and vacuum forming have their own advantages and disadvantages. The three processing techniques are described in detail below.

Injection pallets are generally made of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). It has a hard texture, stable chemical properties, is non-toxic and tasteless, and will not cause any adverse effects on the product.

Injection molding plastic pallets, for thermoplastic injection molding, melt the plastic material and then inject it into the film cavity. Once the molten plastic enters the mold, it is cooled and shaped into a certain shape according to the mold cavity.

The pallet produced by the injection molding process is smooth, flat, stiff, and dense. Because of the use of mold production, the product design has a greater degree of freedom, and the appearance is beautiful in appearance, without flash, thorn, and debris. The color is pure, the color can be selected, and the structure is neat, clean, and hygienic.

The disadvantage of injection molding pallets is that the bearing capacity is slightly smaller, with a static load of 1 to 10 tons, a dynamic load of 0.5 to 1.5 tons, and a shelf load of 0.3 to 1.2 tons. In addition, due to the production process, the pallet structure is generally a single-sided use type.

Injection plastic pallets are mainly used in three-dimensional warehouses, cold storage, and other environments and in logistics operations in various industries.

The blow molding of plastic pallets is similar to the general blow molding method of hollow products, because the product is large and double-sided, which requires large extruders, clamping machines, and molds.

The super-large blow molding machine specializing in high-speed production of high-strength blow molding pallets is produced by HMWHDPE high-density polyethylene, with fast forming speed, good product quality, high strength, and high rigidity. Compared with injection-molded pallets, its bearing capacity is larger, its impact resistance is stronger, and its service life is longer. Generally, the service life of the blow molding pallet can reach 5~10 years, and it can work stably in an environment of -40~70℃.

The dynamic load of the blow molding pallet can reach more than 3t, and the bending strength has reached a high level. It is the first choice for some pallets that require long life and high-intensity use environments. Its price is higher than other plastic pallets. Because of its particularly long service life, its cost performance is the highest among all pallets.

In addition, the blow molding pallet is soft and very resistant to falling during the operation process. Generally, it is not damaged if it is frequently dropped from a height of 3 meters. However, the production process of this type of pallet has low rigidity and high process cost.

Blow-molded plastic pallets are mainly used in harsh environments and scenes with relatively high work intensity.

There are two types of plastic pallets produced by the vacuum forming method: single-sided and double-sided.

Single-sided blister pallets are mostly used for packaging and transportation of small motors (such as vacuum cleaner motors, power tool motors, etc.) and wire pallets. They develop rapidly and are mainly dedicated.

The double-sided blister pallets are assembled and divided into two forms: the upper half is an extruded fixed-length and fixed-width plastic sheet, and the lower half is a large vacuum blister product; the upper and lower half are large vacuum blistering products. This method requires large vacuum forming equipment, the equipment cost is low, and the mold cost is also low, but the product wall thickness is not uniform.
